HASTINGS-ON-HUDSON, N.Y. ? Hastings' first responders and public works employees will be honored at a potluck dinner Saturday for their efforts during and after Hurricane Sandy.
The dinner will be hosted by the Hastings-on-Hudson Parks & Recreation Department between 4 and 8 p.m. at the James Harmon Community Center. It will honor members of the Volunteer Fire Department, Ambulance Corps., Police Department and DPW employees for their work not only in the village but in raising and delivering donations to storm victims on Staten Island.
The "Small Town Heroes" handled a a variety of emergency situations through a difficult period in which many homes and businesses went with power.
Those who wish to attend can register at the Recreation Department's website (click on Online Registration Site) and specify what food or drink you will bring.
