HASTINGS-ON-HUDSON, N.Y. Hastings police said the St. Matthews Church reported on Dec. 1 that an unknown person had stolen gifts from its toy drive sometime during the day on Nov. 30. Police said an unknown person entered the church during the day on Nov. 30 and went to the back where the toys are stored and stole a stack of gifts. It is unknown exactly how many toys were stolen or what the total value of the gifts is though. Police are still investigating the thefts.
Police said a Hastings resident reported on Dec. 5 an unauthorized withdrawal from his bank account. Police said the victim reported over $950 had been taken from his account unknowingly. Police referred him to credit agencies who are currently investigating the matter.
