ARDSLEY, N.Y. The future of the Ashford Avenue bridge in Ardsley will be discussed on Wednesday night and local residents are encouraged to learn more about renovations to the bridge.
A meeting will be held on Wednesday night to discuss the renovations as officials from Westchester County will hold a presentation detailing the changes. The meeting will be held Wednesday night at 7 p.m. in the Dobbs Ferry High School auditorium at 505 Broadway. County officials will take comments and questions on the plan as well.
Fixing the bridge has been one of MaryJane Shimsky's (D-Hastings-on-Hudson) biggest goals as the countys District 12 legislator. Shimsky has previously said that approximately 35 county-owned bridges are considered deficient by the department of transportation with Ashford Avenue being at the bottom.
Ive also been starting to do due diligence that the reconstruction of the Ashford Ave. bridge stays on some semblance of the schedule, Shimsky said in a previous interview. That bridge is the worst county-owned bridge in Westchester.
