DOBBS FERRY, N.Y. -- Dobbs Ferry native and Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg has joined several top tech innovators in forming a group called FWD.org in an effort to influence debate on immigration reform.
According to a story in Time Magazine, Zuckerberg, who attended local public schools, told The Washington Post Thursday that the U.S. immigration policy limits access to talented immigrants. He is joined by the founders of Google, Yahoo, and LinkedIn in the effort.
The U.S. Congress is currently considering legislation of immigration reform that has support in both political parties.
“We have a strange immigration policy for a nation of immigrants,” Zuckerberg wrote Thursday in The Washington Post. “And it’s a policy unfit for today’s world. To lead the world in this new economy, we need the most talented and hardest-working people. We need to train and attract the best.”
