ARDSLEY, N.Y. A local plumbing inspector was arrested and charged with accepting a bribe after an investigation by the office of the Westchester County District Attorney.
Ardsley resident Peter Daliso, who is a Yonkers plumbing inspector, was arrested and charged with one count of bribe receiving in the third degree, which is a class D felony according to a press release from Westchester County District Attorney Janet DiFiore.
On Nov. 22, 2011 Daliso allegedly solicited and accepted a bribe from another plumber, after he agreed to let a property pass inspection and receive the proper plumbing permit only if he was compensated for it., DiFiore's office said.
The plumber that Daliso solicited a bribe from contacted the District Attorneys office about the incident, sparking the investigation.
After arraigning to meet the following day, the defendant accepted $100 in United States currency from the plumber in exchange for the defendants promise that he would file the appropriate plumbing permit with the City of Yonkers Building Department, the statement said.
According to the DAs statement, Daliso faces a maximum of seven years in state prison if convicted.
