Breaking News: New Summer 2021 Forecast Reveals When To Expect Frequent Storms, Hottest Stretch

Temperatures Peak, Locals Seeking Relief

DOBBS FERRY, N.Y. -- Temperatures have been sitting in the high 90s this week with nothing but more heat on the way. Forecasts are predicting temperatures as high as 100 degrees toward the end of the week. With humidity peaking as well, an excessive heat watch has been issued for Westchester County.

Some have gone to the public pools to cool off, as hours have been extended longer into the night at many pools. Others have gone the opposite route while looking to stay cool.

"I'm mostly staying inside [to avoid the heat]," said Suzanne Miller, who grew up in Dobbs Ferry.

With a free concert and a cool breeze from the Hudson River, many decided to join Miller at Waterfront Park.

"It's just reminiscent, I've lived here my whole life," said Debbie Knecht, a Dobbs Ferry resident, who was having a picnic with family by the water.

There are a multitude of options to stay cool in the villages while the heat has skyrocketed. Take your pick and avoid the heat, whether it's at the pool, in the air conditioning or by the river.
