Dosin, Lifelong Hastings Resident, Dies at 88

HASTINGS-ON-HUDSON, N.Y. - Catherine Dosin of Hastings-on-Hudson died March 23.  She was 88.

Born in Hastings to William and Josephine Bloomer, she married Anthony Dosin in Holy Trinity Russian Orthodox Church in Yonkers in 1941. A lifelong Hastings-on-Hudson resident, she was a member of the Hastings Busy Bees and a member of the Zion Episcopal Church in Dobbs Ferry. Dosin was one of the founding members of the church thrift shop and was a member of the altar guild.  

Surviving are her son Richard (Ann) Dosin, her daughter Linda (Stuart) Atlas, five grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband Anthony in 1985.

The family will receive visitors from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. at Edwards-Dowdle Funeral Home in Dobbs Ferry. A funeral service will start at 10 a.m. on Tuesday at Zion Episcopal Church.  Interment will follow at Mt. Hope Cemetery in Hastings-on-Hudson.
