DOBBS FERRY, N.Y. -- Breathe Easy, a new dry salt therapy spa opening in Dobbs Ferry in mid-May, announced that it mark its debut in the Rivertowns by sponsoring the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation Great Strides Walk 2014 on May 18 at Lyndhurst Estate in Tarrytown.

The Breathe Easy Spa was founded by yoga therapist and breathing expert, Ellen Patrick, and her husband Gary Patrick, both Westchester County entrepreneurs, and owners of the Yoga Sanctuary in Mamaroneck for 10 years.

"Westchester is our home base, so it was a natural fit for us to participate in both fundraising and public education about how dry salt therapy can bring relief," said Patrick, the Spa's Chief Operating Officer.

Patrick said her Team Breathe Easy is within the top five fundraisers in the CFF Great Striges Walk and will match each donation dollar for dollar.

"The healing and anti-inflammatory properties of micro-particles of salt that can penetrate the airways and lungs, make dry salt therapy an effective treatment to alleviate some of the symptoms of cystic fibrosis," according to Patrick.

The Spa's newest location is at 50 Livingstone Ave. 4th floor, Dobbs Ferry off the Lawrence St. exit 15 on Saw Mill River Parkway in the same building as Starbucks, New York Sports Club and Oasis Spa.

Breathe Easy's support of Great Strides will also include an educational booth at the May 18 event at Lyndhurst showcasing dry salt therapy, a holistic approach to relieving an array of health concerns ranging from respiratory problems to skin conditions to stress management.

Spa visitors benefit by breathing micro-particles of dry salt while they relax during sessions that typically last 45 minutes. The salt is ground into tiny particles by a state-of-the-art halogenerator and then infused into the salt rooms. Guests remain fully clothed while they listen to soft, relaxing music in comfortable lounge chairs.

The Great Strides event will be held at Lyndhurst Estate, 635 South Broadway, Tarrytown.

The Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, based in Bethesda, Md., is the world's leader in the search for a cure for cystic fibrosis.
