DOBBS FERRY, N.Y. -- Dobbs Ferry Woman's Club will host its 2014 Beaux Arts Exhibition from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 18 and from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. on Sunday Oct. 19 at its clubhouse.
The Dobbs Ferry Woman's Club is located at 54 Clinton Ave.
Professional and amateur artists will exhibit and sell their work at the juried show, which is free to the public. A public reception is set from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 19, where winning artists will be recognized. Judges for the show are Dr. Barbara Dodsworth, Cheryl Hajjar, and Dr. Jane Roos Griesar.
The 2014 Exhibition will be held in conjunction with the Westchester County Federation of Woman's Clubs. In 1946, this organization began the annual competitive countywide art exhibit known as the Beaux Arts as a means of contributing to the cultural activity of Westchester County.
The Beaux Arts exhibits encourage Westchester County artists and recognize their talent. Earnings from the shows are donated to the Westchester Community College Scholarship Fund.
The exhibits are held throughout Westchester County at participating Woman's Clubs during the year, culminating in the Beaux Arts Finale where first place winners from the individual shows compete and display their work.
