Spincredible Cycling Studio Opens In Ardsley

ARDSLEY, N.Y. — Cycling without leaving the comforts of the indoors is one way to stay in shape. Local fitness seekers have a new place to roll with the opening Monday of Spincredible in downtown Ardsley.

“We feel that our studio will inject some life into downtown Ardsley with some energetic people spinning early in the morning and early evening,” owner Alan Straub said. “Hopefully they will frequent the local establishments for coffee, paper and bagels.”

The 1,200-square-foot studio’s grand opening Sunday featured a three-hour meet-and-greet with instructors and a tour of the facility.

“The grand opening was a big hit, and we had hundreds of people stopping by, which was great to see,” Straub said.

Spincredible hosts five classes per day and prices depend on the class package. The studio is different from conventional gyms, he said, because customers get personal attention and are guaranteed a seat with the studio’s seven-day advance registration system.

“This is a boutique style place that will be very limited with the amount of bikes so each client will get the attention needed from the instructor,” Straub said.

The studio is dedicated solely to indoor cycling and features Livestrong bikes, a state-of-the-art sound system and dedicated instructors, Straub said. The spin center offers a convenient online registration system, allowing riders to set up accounts and reserve bikes. Accounts are also accessible with Spincredible‘s new mobile app for smartphones.

Straub, a former Dobbs Ferry High School football player, and his wife, Patricia, are partners in the venture. Both are lifelong Dobbs Ferry residents – Alan attended public schools and graduated in 1986, while Patti, a professional fitness trainer, graduated from Dobbs Ferry's Our Lady of Victory Academy in 1984.

"We felt like there is a need for an indoor cycling studio in this area where avid spinners can come and get a great workout with no lines and a guaranteed seat," Straub said. "Everyone's first spin is always free and we will have tremendous monthly specials for everyone to take advantage of."
