Cornerstone In Congers Wins Rockland's DVlicious 'Best Soup' Contest CONGERS, N.Y. -- Daily Voice readers have spoken: Cornerstone Restaurant in Congers, with its popular cream of broccoli and cream of chicken soups, is the winner of our DVlicious soup contest. The eatery, at 285 North Route 303, won with 51 percent of the vote and will be awarded a DVlicious certificate along with "souper" bragging rights. Ny-nj Trail Conference Holds Raffle In Suffern SUFFERN, N.Y. -- The New York-New Jersey Trail Conference is holding a Great Gear raffle tonight and Wednesday from 5 p.m. to 7 pm at the Suffern Community Center, prior to the Banff Mountain Film Festival. The film festival begins 7 p.m. both days at the Lafayette Theater.  Prizes for raffle tickets include backpacks, trekking poles, head lamps. Proceeds for the raffle will benefit the Trail Conference, which maintains 2,150 miles of trails, including Harriman State Park, Bear Mountain State Park, and Sterling Forrest. John Lord, 65, killed himself after fatally shooting his wife, Irene Lord, police said.
