SPRING VALLEY, N.Y. – Hundreds of parents in East Ramapo are angry with the school board after learning full-day kindergarten is being offered to about one-quarter of the students, according to News 12.
The parents said a $3 million state grant awarded to the district this summer should have guaranteed full-day kindergarten to all students in need, according to News 12, which reported that just 156 of the district’s 600 kindergarteners are receiving full-day instruction. Those who don't, are enrolled in half-day programs, according to News 12.
School officials told News 12 they expect more full-day kindergarten classes will be "added soon.”
