SPRING VALLEY, N.Y. -- The impeachment trial of Spring Valley Mayor Demeza Delhomme moved forward Wednesday with testimony from Spring Valley Trustee Villair Fonvil and others, according to News 12.
Fonvil testified that Delhomme improperly purchased an SUV for the village and then used the vehicle to take vacations, according to News 12.
During his opening statement Wednesday, Delhomme's lawyer said such accusations are baseless. He accused Fonvil and others of playing politics to undermine the mayor, according to News 12, which reported that Fonvil once was a close Delhomme ally.
Delhomme is facing impeachment because of a widely circulated and widely signed letter to an appeals court asking for his removal, according to News 12.
