SPRING VALLEY, N.Y. – The annual summer camp held by the Martin Luther King Multipurpose Center in Spring Valley may not take place after funding from the village was far less than needed, according to lohud.com.
Spring Valley trustees offered $32,000 in funding for this year's camp, down from $114,000 a year ago, lohud.com said.
The camp is a six-week program for low- to moderate-income children with three meals a day, academic reinforcement and recreational activities, reported lohud.com.
Some authorities are pushing to send children to a similar program in Ramapo, lohud.com noted.
