RAMAPO, N.Y. -- A Ramapo official who voted to approve zoning variances for a house in Monsey has been charged with official misconduct, according to a report by lohud.com.
Samuel Tress, a brand-new member of the Town Board, has been under scrutiny by the Rockland County District Attorney’s Office in connection with his 2015 vote while a member of the Zoning Board of Appeals, the lohud story said.
He was arrested Thursday and charged with first-degree offering of a false instrument, a felony; and official misconduct, a misdemeanor, lohud reported.
Tress, who had a financial interest in the property, denies profiting from the approval, the lohud story said.
