Two Injured, Including DWI Driver, In Ramapo Crash

RAMAPO, N.Y. -- A Pomona man who ran a red light causing a two-car crash early Thursday, injuring himself and two others, was driving drunk, according to the Ramapo Police.

The unidentified 26-year-old was charged with DWI and issued a ticket for running a red light after officers responded to the intersection of East Eckerson Road and Rockland Lane around 12:38 a.m. for a motor vehicle crash with injuries, police said.

When officers arrived on scene they found a two-vehicle crash involving a 2007 Toyota Camry and a 2016 Nissan Frontier. As a result of the accident, both drivers and a passenger of the Toyota Camry were treated for various injuries and transported to the hospital, police added. 

The driver of the 2016 Nissan Frontier exhibited signs of intoxication and was arrested and released, police said.
