Two people were charged with DWI within an hour on Monday afternoon following two unrelated car crashes, said the Ramapo Police Department.
The first incident occurred around 4:15 p.m. when officers responded to the intersection of North Airmont Road and Montebello Road, for a car crash. The driver of one of the vehicles, Michael Klugmann, 28, of Queens, was charged with DWI/Drugs, police said.
A few minutes later at 5:10 p.m., officers responded to the second crash at North Airmont Road and Route 59 in which they arrested Michelle Grisby, 38, of Pomona, for DWI and aggravated DWI because she had a five-year-old passenger in the vehicle at the time, police said.
Grisby is being held at the Rockland County Jail on $10,000 bail.
Since January 1, the Ramapo police department has arrested more than 50 motorists for driving while under the influence of drugs and/or alcohol.
