RAMAPO, N.Y. -- Rockland’s loss is apparently Florida’s gain, said Ramapo police as they congratulated one of their own this week for his new position as a sheriff’s deputy.
Retired Police Officer Jack Kane, who has joined the Clay County Sheriff’s Office was sworn in Tuesday, Ramapo police said.
In 2012, Kane was one of 26 local police officers who were honored by Rockland Count STOP-DWI for their efforts in curbing drunk driving in the county, according to media reports.
They were credited with making close to 1,000 DWI arrests the year before,
Kane, and the others, were praised by Rockland District Attorney Thomas P. Zugibe for saving countless lives.
Kane’s new boss is Sheriff Rick Beseler.
