Ramapo Police Seek Suspects In Hillcrest Mugging

RAMAPO, N.Y. -- A 40-year-old man was attacked and robbed by a group of teens who had followed him from the 7-Eleven store in Hillcrest early Thursday morning, Ramapo police said.

Police said the victim had left the store at the corner of North Main Street and East Eckerson Road around 2 a.m. and was walking on State Street when he was confronted by the teens.

He was struck on the head with a blunt object -- possibly a baseball bat -- and his cell phone was stolen, police said.

The victim was taken to a hospital. No further information was available about his condition.
