Ramapo Police Charge Monroe Woman With Beating Man

RAMAPO, N.Y. -- A Monroe woman was arrested in the Pomona section of Ramapo on Sunday after police said she beat up a man.

Ramapo police said the 24-year-old woman was charged with second-degree assault after the injured man was transported to Good Samaritan Hospital for non-life-threatening head injuries.

The woman was transported to the Rockland County Jail, where she could not make bail.

In addition, Ramapo officers responded to 91 calls for service Sunday, including motor vehicle accidents at the following locations: Sinclair Court in Hillcrest, Haverstraw Road in Wesley Hills and Cherry Lane in Airmont.

Officers also responded to:

  • 26 alarm activations.
  •  Two fires.
  •  Nine medical emergencies.
  • And made three arrests for unlawful possession of marijuana, which occurred in Hillcrest.
