Ramapo Police Charge Man With Stealing Bicycle

RAMAPO, N.Y. -- Ramapo police have charged a 20-year-old man from Hillcrest with stealing a bicycle, according to authorities.

Ramapo police were advised by members of Chaverim of Rockland that they observed the suspect come onto the property of an Ellish Parkway home and steal a Huffy Prospect bicycle about 12:40 a.m. Tuesday, officials report.

Chaverim members watched the suspect abandon the bicycle while attempting to flee, according to police.

Officers arrived and arrested the suspect, police report.

He was charged with petty larceny and released on bail, pending a late March appearance in Ramapo Town Court, according to officials.

The bicycle was recovered, police report.
