RAMAPO, N.Y. -- A lawyer representing Ramapo podiatrist Ira Bernstein says he has not yet decided whether to ask for separate trials for Bernstein and his girlfriend, who are both accused in a murder conspiracy plot to kill Bernstein's wife, according to lohud.com.
Bernstein, 43, pleaded not guilty Tuesday during his arraignment in Rockland County Court. Kelly Gribeluk, 35, who was arrested and charged along with him in May, also plans to fight the charges, lohud.com reports.
The pair are also accused of trying to have two insurance investigators assaulted because they were looking into fraud accusations against Bernstein. Prosecutors said the plot was recorded, but Bernstein's attorney told lohud.com that they are looking forward to having their day in court.
