RAMAPO, N.Y. -- Ramapo Police Detectives Tommy Hatch, Peggy Braddock, and Rob Fitzgerald began a roughly 300-mile bike ride to the National Law Enforcement Memorial in Washington D.C.

The detectives are doing this trip as part of the Police Unity Tour, raising funds for the Police Memorial by riding in memory of Police Officers who died in the line of duty during 2015. Detective Hatch is riding in memory of Police Officer Siegfred D.R. Mortera of the Guam Police Dept. Detective Braddock is riding in memory of Special Agent Joseph G. Lemm of the U.S. Air Force Office of Special Investigations. Special Agent Lemm also served as a Detective with the NYPD. Detective Fitzgerald is riding in memory of Sergeant Eric O. Meier of the Crawford Police Department.
