Vitale is so agitato, he’s convinced the Department of Labor and Workforce Development to examine the tax status of The Shore Store, where the “stars” of the show have been working, CLIFFVIEWPILOT.COM has learned.
Vitale (left) has a goombah, too: Richard Bilotti, the chairman of the New Jersey Italian and Italian American Heritage Commission, has co-signed a letter with Vitale to MTV parent company Viacom insisting the show be canceled.
What has Vitale and Bilotti arrabbioti is what they call the show’s “offensive, inaccurate” portrayal of Italian-Americans (See: MTV and ‘Jersey Shore’ guidos gone wild: Maddon!).
“The bias-related acts displayed by employees of MTV Networks in the production and marketing of ‘Jersey Shore,’ by their nature, are confrontational, inflame tensions and promote social hostility,” they write.
“These acts are contrary to the spirit of New Jersey law and jeopardize the active and open pursuit of freedom and opportunity.”

There’s one catch: The subjects of the show themselves say being a guido is a lifestyle that they’re proud of, from their artificially enhanced body parts to the goop in their hair. They’re totally contento.
Yet these guys from Trenton are trying to strong-arm them into protection they don’t need.
