SUFFERN, N.Y. -- A former U.S. marshal, a Suffern resident, received a 15-month federal prison sentence for lying to police following his deadly shooting of a man in California, according to lohud.com.
Matthew Itkowitz, 47, was sentenced for obstruction of justice, after a U.S. District Court jury in Los Angeles found him guilty in July, said the lohud.com article.
Itkowitz reportedly delivered statements that were false to Los Angeles Police Department homicide detectives after he fatally shot a man in the March 2008 incident that took place in West Hollywood, says lohud.com.
