RAMAPO, N.Y. -- The driver of a BMW was the cause of a multi-vehicle accident Wednesday on Old Nyack Turnpike, in the area of South Main Street, according to the Ramapo Police Department.
Officers on scene, said the driver of the BMW drove illegally through the marked safety zone, struck a vehicle and then struck a second vehicle. The driver then went into the opposite lane of traffic, struck the curb, crossed over the sidewalk and struck a tree, police said.
The unidentified driver was transported to Nyack Hospital by ambulance with non-life threatening injuries, police said. Several traffic tickets were issued.
