Alleged Drunk Driver Crashes Into Two Cars In Hillcrest, Police Say

RAMAPO, N.Y. -- An alleged drunk driver bashed his car into two other vehicles, then drove into a yard out to a street before getting arrested Saturday evening, said Ramapo Police.

The crash happened in the Hillcrest area where police were able to determine the driver was traveling on Northbrook Road and struck a parked car, then hit a second vehicle that was traveling northbound on Northbrook, they said.

He allegedly drove through a yard, then ended up on Merrick Lane, according to police.

Officers allegedly found the driver to be intoxicated and arrested him, police said.

He was charged with driving while intoxicated, according to police.

The unidentified driver posted bail then was released, said police. He is due in court later this month.

Police responded to three accidents with injuries Saturday, two of these in Hillcrest, and another in Montebello, they said.

Other calls involved two property damage only accidents, in Airmont and Hillcrest, according to police.

In total, police answered 91 calls for service:

  • 10 medical emergencies
  • 7 alarm activations
  • 1 fire call

Police made six arrests:

  • Second-degree assault
  • Aggravated Harassment/ Criminal mischief
  • 3 arrest warrants
  • 1 driving while intoxicated
