Breaking News: Frozen Raspberries Recalled Due To Possible Hepatitis A Contamination

Philip Nappo Sr., 89, Of Suffern

SUFFERN, N.Y. – Philip Nappo Sr., a resident of Suffern, died Monday, June 6. He was 89.

Born Dec.12, 1926, in Suffern, he was the son of Sebastiano and Katrina Nappo.

He was a U.S. Army veteran in the European Theater, and was retired as master plumber/steamfitter for Lederle Labs in Pearl River and for the Village of Suffern.

He also was an accomplished owner of his personal plumbing business, Chick Nappo Plumbing and Heating.

He is survived by his son, Phillip “Chickie” Nappo Jr. and his wife Georgi of Slatehill; four grandsons, Phillip Nappo III (Liz), Thomas Bowe (Shannon), Kevin Nappo (Alyse, and Matthew Bowe (Kaitlyn); four great-grandchildren, Olivia, Clayton, Lillian, and Avery; and one sister, Jennifer Janicelli.

He was predeceased by his wife, Joan; daughter, Vicki N. Bowe; and brothers, Anthony, Carmen, James, Veto and Sam.

Friends may call from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Friday at the Scarr Funeral Home, Route 202, Suffern. A Mass of Christian burial will be conducted at 9:45 a.m. Saturday at Sacred Heart Church, 129 Lafayette Ave., Suffern. Burial will follow at the Cemetery of the Ascension in Airmont.
