Wesley Hills Murder-Suicide Continues To Baffle Police

WESLEY HILLS, N.Y. – The tragic deaths of a Wesley Hills couple continue to mystify police and others, according to a report by lohud.

Police continue to search for the reason behind the tragic murder-suicide that has rocked Wesley Hills. John Lord, of Deerwood Road, called police last week to report he had shot his wife, Irene. He turned the gun on himself as authorities arrived.

John and Irene Lord died in an apparent murder-suicide at their Deerwood Road home early Monday, Feb. 8, police said.

John Lord, 65, called authorities shortly after 7 that morning to tell them he had shot his 63-year-old wife and then killed himself just as officers arrived at their home, police said.

According to the lohud story, authorities, who have been talking to family and friends of the Lords, have not been able to uncover any obvious medical or financial reason for the shootings.

The Lords, who were childless, loved dogs, exercising, and appeared to be happy, the lohud story said. They also both had jobs, according to media reports.

According to a previous story in Daily Voice, Irene Lord owned a handgun and there were also several rifles, bows and arrows, and a spear gun in the house.
