RAMAPO, N.Y. -- A local man, out on bail on a drug charge, faces new charges of cocaine possession after being arrested by Spring Valley Police during a traffic stop, according to lohud.com.
Police said Juvenson Paul, 24, of 120 Lakeview Village, was a passenger in a car they pulled over last weekend for alleged equipment violations. Police said Paul threw drugs out the window before the vehicle was stopped at the South Central Plaza, and that officers could smell marijuana inside the car, according tp lohud.com.
Detective Robert Bookstein said they recovered a "substantial amount of cocaine" that was thrown from the car.
Paul, charged with felony counts of third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance and evidence tapering, was being held in the Rockland County jail on $1,500 bail, according to lohud.com.
