Ramapo/Spring Valley Youth Pop Warner Team Allowed Convict To Coach

RAMAPO, N.Y. -- The president and board members of the Ramapo/Spring Valley Pop Warner Hornets football team were aware that one of their coaches had a criminal past when they allowed him to work with children, according to lohud.com.

Velton Blacknall, president of the Hornets, said he and other team leaders were aware that Theodore Holmes had been convicted of drug dealing when they allowed him to coach children between 11-13 years old, according to the report.

Blacknall said he and the board intended to give Holmes a "second chance."

Holmes, who was out on parole when he coached the team in 2014, is again facing criminal charges, according to the report. He was arrested in July and faces six news charges, including three felonies.
