HAVERSTRAW, N.Y.—The memorial service for Rockland County coaching legend Ralph Cordisco, originally planned for Saturday, Jan. 23, has been postponed a week due to the Nor'easter expected to barrel up the East Coast over the weekend.
Cordisco, who led North Rockland High School’s football program for 23 years, died Jan. 10 at age 97. His funeral was held last Saturday in Rhode Island, where he lived his last few years.
However, predictions of 3 to 8 inches of snow in the lower Hudson Valley this weekend have forced organizers to postpone the community memorial service. It is now planned for next Saturday, Jan. 30 at St. Peter’s Church in Haverstraw at 10 a.m.
