SPRING VALLEY, N.Y. — Residents suing the Spring Valley mayor alleging discrimination and harassment among other claims, will have to move forward with new lawyer Larry Weissman, lohud.com reports.

An appellate panel kicked attorney William Gerard off the case pointing to a conflict while deputy village attorney, the article says. Weissman, his legal associate, will take over the case.

Three residents are suing Mayor Demeza Delhomme, mayor since December 2013, alleging religious discrimination, personal use of village funds and harassment of village officials, the story says. They want him removed him from office.

Delhomme has argued the citizens lack first-hand knowledge of their accusations, according to the article.
