POMONA, N.Y. – Georgia, a Labrador Retriever mix, is looking for a forever home, according to the folks at the Hi Tor Animal Care Center in Pomona.
The 2-year-old female was surrendered to the shelter along with her brother, Chance, because of an illness in her owner’s family.
Chance has been adopted, the shelter said.
The shelter's "Pet of the Week" is “an active girl” so a fenced-in backyard where she could play and run would be “awesome for her,” it said.
She is affectionate and housebroken, but still needs some obedience training.
The high-energy pooch would do best in a house with older children.
She gets along with other dogs, but with cats, not so much, the shelter said.
To find out more about Georgia, and the other dogs and cats up for adoption, visit the shelter, which is located at 65 Firemens Memorial Drive, or call (845) 354-7900.
