RAMAPO, N.Y. -- The debate over the ultimate fate of the troubled East Ramapo school district continues to rage in Albany, and state Sen. John J. Flanagan is not budging on the issue of veto power for a state-appointed monitor, according to lohud.com
Flanagan (R-Suffolk County), president and majority leader of the state Senate, said lawmakers are still discussing the 19 recommendations put forth by a state panel, the lohud.com article said.
Flanagan told lohud.com that he remained concerned about the recommendation for veto power because school board members are elected in a democratic process.
