SPRING VALLEY, N.Y. -- The Association of the Visually Impaired recently named Beth Bate-Du Boff as its new executive director.
In her new role, Date-Du Boff will serve as the chief spokesperson representing the organization in the community and working with board committees and volunteers to develop and implement new strategies for fundraising to advance the organization's mission to expand services to people with visual impairments.
In addition, she will supervise all areas of operations, including contract management, fiscal accountability, grants, fund raising, marketing, public relations and office management.
The nonprofit association, founded in 1973 to serve blind and visually impaired residents of Rockland and Orange counties, provides training to the blind and visually impaired to ensure independence and the ability to live a healthy and meaningful lifestyle within the community in the home of their choice.
The agency also provides comprehensive vision rehabilitation services, support meetings and escorted transportation services to the blind and visually impaired in Rockland County.
Bate-Du Boff, a resident of Stony Point, brings more than two decades of experience in fundraising, including conducting annual appeals, capital campaigns, planned giving, coordinating special events, stewardship and strategic planning. She also has extensive experience in the areas of marketing, public relations, program development and volunteer coordination.
