Amoros died on Jan. 29, 2013 in a one-car accident on Thiells-Mount Ivy Road after he lost control of his car on the icy road while driving to work in Stony Point.

Amaros was enrolled in Rockland Community College’s automotive technology program at the time of his death. His parents, Ivette and Al, along with other family and friends, began the annual car show to honor Amoros’ interest in cars and invite the community to join them at a fun event that expresses Amoros’ favorite saying, “You Gotta Be Happy!”

Enjoy the DJ, live music entertainment, an Elvis tribute artist, raffles, prizes and cars at the free event.

Donations will fund two Anthony Amoros $500 scholarships for North Rockland High School students enrolled in RCC’s automotive technology AAS program and help support local students who share Amoros’ love of cars and automotive technology. Entry fee is $20 to show a car and $25 for vendors. Prizes will be awarded.

To pay entry or vendor fees, contact Ivette Amoros at 845-480-1156 or Al Amoros at 914-434-2391.

A rain date will take place on Sunday, Aug. 14 if necessary.

Rockland Community College is located at 145 College Road in Viola.
