A storm system moving through the area overnight into Tuesday morning will bring freezing rain to Putnam as well as parts of Northern Westchester.
A Freezing Rain Advisory was issued for Putnam from 3 a.m. to 1 p.m. Tuesday.
The light freezing rain could make driving difficult, the National Weather Service said. A trace to a few hundredths of an inch of freezing rain could fall.
Drivers are urged to slow down and use caution due to the slippery conditions.
Rain and freezing rain will develop across the area late Monday night and into Tuesday morning. It will shift to mostly rain during the day Tuesday and linger throughout the day as temperatures climb into the low 40s.
A much more significant system is expected to arrive overnight Wednesday into Thursday that could result in plowable snow and accumulation of 6 inches or more, the National Weather Service said.
