Cresskill Church Sponsors Dance For LGBTQ Youths CRESSKILL, N.J. -- Cresskill Congregational Church is hosting the Rainbow Cafe's Holiday Dance for LGBTQ youths on Friday, Dec. 18.  All LGBTQ youths between the ages of 13 and 19 are invited to attend the dance. A $5 admission fee at the door includes pizza and refreshments and a chance to listen to DJ Kevyn.  The dance will last from 7-10 p.m., all are welcome to meet friends or flirt in a safe environment with activities.  To RSVP or for more information, go to the Rainbow Cafe's Facebook page here.

New Windsor Student Charged With Posting Threat NEW WINDSOR, N.Y. -- Following a threatening post on the social media site Yik Yak, police arrested a SUNY Oneonta student from New Windsor on Sunday night, according to a report on Time Warner Cable News.  Brandon Matthew Negron, 20, of New Windsor, allegedly posted “I’m going to shoot up the school. Be prepared Oneonta,” TWC reported. Negron was released on bail after being arrested, TWC said. For the full story, click here.

Man Charged With Trying To Steal 12 Packs Of Red Bull From Westport Store WESTPORT, Conn. — Westport police were called to the Shelton Police Department on Friday to take custody of a man who ran out of the Stop & Shop in Westport with 12 four packs of Red Bull in August, police said. According to the police report, 36-year-old Christopher Freer of Ansonia went into the Stop & Shop on the Post Road on Aug. 28 and attempted to steal the packs of energy drinks, valued at $120, police said.  A store employee who had been following Freer approached him, causing him to run out of the store and drop the merchandise in the parking lot before getting into a waitin…

Teen Indicted By Grand Jury In West Nyack Man's Murder WEST NYACK, N.Y. -- A homeless man was indicted on murder charges Friday in the slaying death Tuesday of a West Nyack resident found stabbed in his apartment. Dylan Lentini, 19, of New York City was charged with the murder of 66-year-old Michael Wimbert, according to Clarkstown police. The young adult found his victim on Craigslist, seeking a room for rent,. Lentini made arrangements to be picked by the victim at the train station in White Plains on Friday. Mamaroneck Library Bids Farewell To Longtime Workers, Welcomes New Ones MAMARONECK, N.Y. -- It's always difficult to look back over the course of a year and reflect on what's happened, but this year stands out with so many things to be thankful for and so many changes.  Last month, we bid a fond farewell to our lon-time caretaker, Tom Burke. Tom was a familiar sight in the library as he handled the deliveries, the coordination of maintenance and repairs, and the general upkeep of the building.  Everyone misses Tom, but we all wish him the best in his retirement and hope he will visit us regularly.
