“I saw Dominic’s potential when he was in grade school,” commented Carmel wrestling coach, Seth Harrison. “It is thrilling to see his hard work culminate with a Division 1 scholarship to Sacred Heart University." Caporale has been an integral participant of the high school varsity wrestling team for the past six years. He has been the team captain for the past four years.

“Dominic has demonstrated his ability to lead and assist our program and his peers,” Harrison said.

Caporale is also a two-year varsity lacrosse player (goalie, defense). His lacrosse coach, Paul Brennan, also hailed Caporale’s leadership and said, “Dom is the best leader I have had in the eight years coaching in Carmel. He is a terrific athlete, but his finest quality is his ability to bring out the best in his teammates in the toughest times. He is an old-school competitor who you can count on to be on the filed each game, sacrificing his body for the team.”

In addition to his prowess as a wrestler and a lacrosse player, Caporale is a two-year varsity football player (safety, running back).

He has been recognized with a RAM award and was named MVP in both football and wrestling. Athletic Director Susan Dullea said, “Dominic is a great student and a great role models. He has a terrific work ethic.”

While at Sacred Heart University, Caporale intends to study biology and take pre-veterinarian courses.

“It has been our privilege here at Carmel High School to watch Dominic grow as both a student and a talented athlete,” commented Principal Louis Riolo. “His dedication, hard work and effort have paid great dividends for this young man."

Harrison added, “I am confident in his ability to succeed at Sacred Heart. On behalf of our entire program, athletes and coaches alike, we wish Dominic the very best!"
