Oba Johnson of Poughkeepsie, who is the second person nabbed in connection with the crime, was arrested Wednesday outside a residence in Fishkill on a warrant for murder in the second degree, said City of Poughkeepsie Police Det. Lt. Matt Clark.

This charge stems from the Nov. 5, 2018, murder of Jaquain Johnson, 20, who was shot to death at the intersection of Mill and Garden Streets.

At the time of the shooting, responding officers found Johnson, formerly from the Bronx, shot once in the chest lying in the middle of the westbound lanes of the arterial highway.

He was transported by ambulance to MidHudson Regional Hospital in critical condition.

He died from the single gunshot wound the next day.

Johnson was arraigned in front of Judge Peter Foreman and remanded to the Dutchess County Jail without bail.

Anyone with information on this murder should call the City of Poughkeepsie Police at 845-451-7577.
