A 27-year-old Mahopac man was arrested after being nabbed for possession of ecstasy during a routine traffic stop.
The Putnam County Sheriff arrested Joseph Marrone, on Feb. 15, following a traffic stop on Route 6 by members of the Sheriff's Office Narcotics Enforcement Unit (NEU), for traffic violations, the department said.
During the traffic stop, it was determined that Marrone was in possession of a quantity of MDMA (ecstasy), an open container of alcohol and was operating out of restrictions on his driver's license.
Marrone was arrested and charged with one count criminal possession of a controlled substance and was issued three traffic summonses.
He was released on his own recognizance.
