A 25-year-old Putnam man was nabbed for dealing drugs after selling cocaine to an undercover cop, according to Putnam County Sheriff Robert L. Langley Jr.
In July of 2017, a deputy assigned to the Sheriff’s Department Narcotics Enforcement Unit developed information that a resident was involved in the sale of cocaine within the county, said Capt. Lisa Ortolano.
The deputy was able to make contact with Giovanni J. Rogonia of Putnam Valley and arrange for the purchase of cocaine, she added.
Rogonia was arrested on Wednesday, Jan. 3, and charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance and criminal sale of a controlled substance.
He is being held at the Putnam County Jail on $15,000 cash / $25,000 bond, pending a future court date.
