Man Nabbed For Stealing Putnam County SPCA Police Donation Box From Market

A man who allegedly stole a donation box from a Putnam market has been arrested

The Putnam County Sheriff's Office was informed of a larceny at the Appalachian Market in the Town of Philipstown on Thursday, Jan. 10, and dispatched to the scene to investigate. It was reported that the donation money box, which was for the Putnam County SPCA Police, was stolen from the market the night of Wednesday, Jan. 9.

After further investigation, 20-year-old Christopher Rodriguez of Poughkeepsie was arrested and charged with petit larceny, a class A misdemeanor.

Rodriguez was processed at the Putnam County Correctional Facility and arraigned in the Town of Kent Justice Court on behalf of the Town of Philipstown Justice Court. Information regarding Rodriguez’s return court date is not yet available.
