Manuel Cochancela, 36, was arrested on Tuesday around 2:15 p.m. after a Yorktown police officer watched as he turned his red Ford truck erratically from Lee Road and collided with another vehicle on westbound Route 6, Yorktown Police said.

An investigation at the scene of the crash found Cochancela was allegedly intoxicated, and a computer check revealed that he was unlicensed and had a prior conviction for DWI in the past 10 years, police said.

Cochancela was arrested and charged with aggravated driving while intoxicated following a breath test that showed he had a blood alcohol level of 0.18 percent or more, DWI, unsafe lane change, failing to signal, and following too closely.

He was released on his own recognizance and is scheduled to appear in court on March 12.
