Putnam Police Sheriff’s Deputy Vincent Dalo, Sgt. Timothy Keith and K-9 Lex, members of the canine unit, were dispatched to a home in Carmel to offer an assist to the Carmel Police Department, where there was a report of a male suspect who was involved in a violent domestic incident in the area.

Dalo was able to track down an article of the suspect’s clothing, which was used as a “scent article.” Dalo introduced that item to his partner, and Lex was able to locate a trail left by the suspect. Dalo and Keith were led by Lex into a wooded area, where the suspect was found lying in a tall, grassy area, attempting to hide.

Keith arrested the suspect - whose name has not been released - and he was turned over to the Carmel Police Department.
