Hudson Valley Woman Stabs Ex-Partner, Takes Police On Wild Pursuit, Cops Say

A Hudson Valley woman is behind bars after allegedly stabbing another woman and then taking state police on a wild pursuit that included going through the backyards of homes.

The incident began in Dutchess County on Monday, May 1 on Cady Lane in Wappinger.

According to New York State Police, troopers responded to a home on Cady Lane for a domestic incident.

Troopers were notified that an individual was stabbed in the leg during the domestic altercation and were provided a description of the suspect. 

As troopers approached the residence, they spotted a grey 2016 Honda Accord fleeing the scene fitting the description of the suspect, state police said.

Troopers stopped the vehicle on Myers Corners Road and identified the operator as Wilmary Rosa, age 37, from the town of Wappinger. 

State police said that while speaking with troopers, Rosa put her vehicle in drive and fled the scene turning off her headlights and reaching a speed of 70 miles per hour. 

Rosa traveled over numerous roads in the town of Wappinger and the town of Poughkeepsie, ultimately coming to a stop in the rear of a residence in the village of Wappingers Falls, state police said.

She refused to exit the vehicle and was eventually removed by troopers and taken into custody without incident, police said. 

During a search of the vehicle, state police said they located multiple quantities of illegal controlled substances.

A further investigation revealed that Rosa had a verbal and physical altercation with an ex-domestic partner, at which point she stabbed the individual in the leg numerous times, state police said.

The victim was treated at a local hospital for injuries that were not life-threatening, they added.

Rosa was charged with:

  • Assault 
  • Fleeing an officer in a motor vehicle
  • Criminal possession of a controlled substance 

She was also Rosa issued 29 vehicle and traffic law tickets. 

Rosa was arraigned in the Town of Wappinger Court and remanded to Dutchess County Jail in lieu of $10,000 cash and $20,000 bond.
