CARMEL, N.Y. -- The Putnam County Sheriff’s Office has arrested a Carmel resident on a charge of criminal mischief.
A deputy responded to a report of a family dispute at Hemlock Terrace in the Town of Carmel on Friday, Jan.15, at 12:49 p.m., officials report.
The deputy determined that a man identified as Christopher M. Bruno, 28, had destroyed items of property in the residence during a dispute with his parents, according to police.
Bruno’s father indicated that he wanted to press criminal charges against his son, police report.
The deputy arrested Bruno and charged him with criminal mischief in the fourth degree, a misdemeanor, according to officials.
The defendant was arraigned and committed to the Putnam County Correctional Facility, in lieu of $500 cash bail or bond pending a future court appearance, police report.
If found guilty of the misdemeanor charge, the defendant could face up to a year in jail and a fine of up to $1,000.
