Accidental Death Reported At Old Route 6 Residence In Southeast

A welfare check at a residence in the area resulted in the discovery of the body of a 55-year-old man.

Putnam County Sheriff Robert L. Langley Jr. reports that on Wednesday, March 20,  at about 10:35 a.m., members of the Putnam County Sheriff’s Office responded to a welfare check at the home on Old Route 6 in the Town of Southeast. 

Family members of Matthew Meyer, a resident at the location, were unable to contact him and subsequently called for assistance.

Members of the Putnam County Sheriff’s Office responded and upon arrival, located Meyer deceased within the confines of the residence.

Information developed by Investigators from the Putnam County Sheriff’s Department and the Putnam County Coroner’s Office indicates that Meyer’s death was accidental in nature. No further details were released.
