A popular longterm police detective in the Hudson Valley died unexpectedly after nearly 50 years serving the community.
This week, the Town of Fishkill Police Department announced that detective Ted “Teddy” Alston died on Monday, Feb. 17.
Alston was a retied detective in the City of Poughkeepsie police department following 35 years of service and then spent another 10 in the Town of Fishkill.
“(Teddy) always had a few stories to tell of his time (in Poughkeepsie,) the Town of Fishkill Police Department posted on Facebook. “He then continued to hold the gold detective shield with us for 10 plus years of dedicated police work in the Town of Fishkill. His everyday smile and humor will be missed by all especially his brothers and sisters in blue.”
Funeral arrangements have not been announced.
